Counselor, LDAC
Jessica Meehan
Are you struggling with your substance use? Do you put down one substance, but pick up another? Or maybe switch to a completely different compulsive habit? Have you ever thought you may have an “addictive personality?” Addiction comes down to coping with emotional distress and difficult life situations. And, the behaviors aren’t relegated to alcohol and drugs—there are many ways to numb discomfort. Counseling for addiction involves identifying the root cause of your distress and supporting you as you build tolerance for the intolerable. Learning to identify your triggers, how to use the tools of recovery and beginning to feel your feelings can be scary and uncomfortable. I’ll be here to teach, listen and support you through this life-changing process.
